Black Lives Matter: How You Can Help
There are many ways to support Black Lives Matter, and this article provides links to just some of the organisations and charities that are important to this cause at the moment.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, but there is a lot of information out there which can feel overwhelming, so we’ve created this resource of things the Harpy team have seen, signed, and donated to.
Only donate if you are able to; the Covid-19 crisis has caused difficulties for many and we would never presume to understand anyone’s financial situation. This is why alongside donation opportunities we have also included petitions you can sign, for free.
Anti-racism is a lifelong commitment and we urge you - as well as ourselves - to do the work.
Petitions to sign
NB: With change.org, please remember to check your email and confirm it in order to sign the petition. Also, do not donate to change.org. The donations they ask for do not go to the causes but to change.org themselves. The petitions still make a difference, though.
Ways You Can Help (This link, from Black Lives Matter, contains a huge number of petitions. Please look at them! The link also has donation opportunities and education resources.)
Write to your MP (This is a link to a public Google doc with a template letter to use to write to your MP and ask them to take racism seriously. The doc also contains other, useful links to information, groups, donation pages, education resources and petitions.)
